After 10 long days waiting for rescue to save her, lexie arrived at blackdogs where she was immediately taken to an orthopedic specialistshe spends her days snoozing in her dog bed, playing with her friends and at night she becomes a little turtle under a blanket, popping out only for a belly rub and kisslexie was found on the road, hit by a carfor more information on adopting lexie, contact dawn at blackdogsrescue@ icloudshe loves her rescue friends but is the boss of everyoneshe hoards toys and gets first choice of goodies with dinnerbut once you have won her heart, her little face will absolutely charm youlexie underwent thousands of dollars in surgery and began a road to recoveryher tailbone and pelvis were severely fracturedlexie is able to walk, and have supervised exerciselexie needs a special family resolved to providing her with some ongoing rehab while she recoversher adoption fee has been covered by a grant from the petfinder foundation via the purina one adoption grant programshe has an upcoming appointment with her orthopedic surgeon and we will know if she is able to undergo a spay surgery at that timelexie is very shy with new people and needs some patiencelexies tail is broken but she still manages a wag once in awhile

She spent a few days at a foster home with 5 other dogs and was quite well-behaved in the group :-)  she is truly a gem and wants nothing more than to have a future that is secure for the remainder of her days she had never been in a kennel situation and was truly terrified however, less than 5 minutes in the car she was sound asleep she had been an only-dog her entire life she is very lovable to all people she meets she is enjoying her current foster home and she has been very good there as well visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet perhaps losing a pound or two is in her futuresox  this very sweet girl was given up to arizona humane society who in turn contacted us she's a couch snuggler! she has a lovely coat and is in very good shape overall
